Gene Bowles, the founder and principal of Barometer Capital LLC, is both a successful high-tech entrepreneur and a successful investor. His achievements in both fields have resulted from exceptional skills in economic modeling, statistical analysis, and quantitative decision-making.

Mr. Bowles honed his business skills through a range of managerial and executive positions in both large, multinational businesses and smaller, high-tech startups. He was a co-founder of Storage Dimensions and led the company's successful IPO efforts in 1997. His last position in industry was as President and CEO of Solid Data Systems. While engaged in startups in the computer storage industry, he was a frequent presenter at industry conferences and was quoted widely in the trade press. He has served on the Board of Directors for a number of corporations, both private and public, as well as not-for-profit and community-service organizations.

His many years of operating experience have given him exceptional insights into the interrelationships among the economy, the financial markets and business enterprises. On occasion over this career, he has personally developed industry-specific economic models to guide management in decision-making and to achieve strategic competitive advantage. The recurring successes of these efforts have convinced him that similar approaches could provide equal advantages in the financial markets.

Mr. Bowles has been an active investor in the stock market since the mid-1970s. His market involvement has spanned numerous economic and market cycles - including a broad range of financial crises, geopolitical turmoil, wars, market crashes, runaway inflation, and natural disasters. These experiences have provided valuable insights into how the markets respond to changing economic climates. His applied statistical modeling and decision-making skill, moreover, have allowed him to translate these insights into the unique structure of the company's econometric decision-rules.

Mr. Bowles earned a B.S. in engineering, with high honors, from the University of Michigan in 1969 and an M.B.A, with honors, from Stanford University in 1975. Barometer Capital LLC is a registered investment advisor.
