These Barometer readings, in turn, become the primary inputs into a dynamic portfolio management process that adjusts the allocation between stocks and bonds in light of changing economic and market conditions. By “tilting” the portfolio mix toward the asset class with the most favorable prospects, our Model Portfolio (back-tested) has out-performed a buy-and-hold stock strategy by an average of 5.9% per year over the last ten years, with a lower risk exposure and fewer loss periods. Each month, we publish a free internet newsletter, the Barometer Capital Report, documenting the readings for our Stock and Bond Barometers for the month, as well as the recommended asset allocation for our Model Portfolio. Performance statistics are calculated over the prior twelve months, providing objective validation of the success of our strategy relative to fixed allocation strategies. In addition, an accompanying commentary that provides perspective on recent economic and market developments within the context of the Barometer Investment Strategy.
